    Can a balloon ram and a non-balloon ram becomes a couple, lay eggs and reproduce youngs?

    Hi,
    I don't know will the balloon and non-balloon Ram pair up but to my surprise my non-balloon Rams had produced some balloon young. So the answer could be is a yes....

    The normal blue, normal gold, normal electric blue, all veil tail and balloon varieties freely interbreed. They are merely man made variations of the same species.
    Old fish breeder. SA Dwarf Cichlids, Hypancistrus sp L260, L333 and Peckoltia L134 breeder. Also Sturisoma, Dwarf Corydoras spp, wild Discus and Killiefish. Like breeding Characins and wild Betta spp too.

    Think can as long as both are ram... similar to cross breeding lionhead goldfish with a non lionhead goldfish
