i kept mine at 7-8 GH Orchid is currently breeding well Unless the rest of the species aka harlequin, goldflake etc. I only encounter molting problem with harlequin and goldflake the rest of the 3 species like the 6 band tiger, orchid, cardinal are molting. I read also unless you have aquire those that is wild catch from the lake. Most of them did advise to have the water soft. But i believe those we aquire from LFS in singapore are breed out from farm. Which we don't really know what are the parameter that th shrimp are kept in.

But I believe as long as sulawesi shrimps are living well in your setup, it should be fine.

Of course they are well and kicking.
    Small shop easy maintain.
Do you think they will leave any dead shrimp in the tank if they see it?
Yes i agree with Seah it is BAD FOR their REPUTATION of pricy and healthy quality shrimp

    Re: Sulawesi Shrimp - question

    Two exactly same shrimps.
One Sulawesi Shrimp put in the normal tank and sell for $4.50.
Another Sulawesi Shrimp put in a small tank in a air room and sell for $7.50.
They can tell you that this shrimp is very healthy and none die.
How healthy compared to the first shrimp?
It is intangible, health cannot be measured.
Far more, do you know "salesman" will leave the dead shrimp in their tank?
If you buy back home, any shrimp die they can simply say your water got problem, tank got problem, lighting got problem or food got problem.
And their shrimps sure no problem.
The only difference you are paying is for the air-con and more profit in their pockets.

    That is my opinion.
Please don't shoot me if you disagree.
But you can always up my rating/feedback if you agree.
