Sometimes you get unlucky and buy a small angelfish which is a runt but my guess is most of your poor growth has to do with a couple things.
1. You should change much more water more frequently. I recommend at least 50% a week but 75% every 4 or 5 days is even better. High nitrates can inhibit their growth. large frequent water changes control nitrate accumulations.
2. The diet may not be as well rounded and rich as a predator like an Angelfish needs.
You should feed them frozen blood worms, frozen black mosquito larvae once a day. Some live foods each week if possible certainly would help. They should be fed high quality prepared foods like some Discus pellet foods. I would not rely heavily on flake foods but a good brand is another part of a varied diet. When Angelfish are juveniles it is best if they are fed 3 times a day. Once they become adults, two feedings a day will suffice.
To kick start your slow growing Angels feed them as much live foods as you can until you notice normal growth has resumed.
Old fish breeder. SA Dwarf Cichlids, Hypancistrus sp L260, L333 and Peckoltia L134 breeder. Also Sturisoma, Dwarf Corydoras spp, wild Discus and Killiefish. Like breeding Characins and wild Betta spp too.
hi,
thanks for the advice.
Just wondering if i keep changing water won't it be harmful for my angels?
can changing water of 30% be gd enough every week??
Thanks!

Hi bro situkwokhan,i suggest you do 30% of water(aged water) change twice a week,
that will enhance the growth rate of your fishes.Do not overfeed them and siphon out uneaten
food.Good water condition=Healthy fishes.![]()
it appears that my filter system is not working very well for my angel fish. the water is always cloudy after a few days.
i need to suck the shit out every 3 days if not i scare they will die of nitrate and ammonia poisoning.
what filters do u all thing i shd use.
