Recently enquired about the rounded edge tank from one of the dealers and was told that they are china made tank and are very vulnerable to leaking/cracking because of the design. As only the rear are sealed there would be uneven pressure exerted on front and rear of the tank. What do the experts or those who have used such a tank before think?.

It is not true, pressure is exerted on all side of the tank regardless of whether it is seamed with silicon or one whole piece. It may be that the tank of that manufacture is not well made. I fact because it has less seams, the chance of leakage would be lower.

Re: Are roundedge tank not fit for use?

Bro, I am intending to get a round edge tank soon too and one of the uncle at the LFS told me that they are actually made with a higher quality glass and that is why they are more expensive that a normal tank.

Bro Merviso, do you know if any LFS sells GEX rim/brace less 2 feet tanks? Only saw the normal with brace kind but saw the rimless one used by another hobbyist from overseas. Thanks in advance

I have a Boyu rounded corner 2ft tank, running from 2004, so far, no one drop of water leaked. Occasionally my son would have practiced his Taikwondo punch on the tank.

I'm not sure of any LFS selling GEX rim/brace less 2 feet tanks now, but nowadays, I personally preferred the standard ADA styled tank instead of round edged tank for better viewing.

Yup..the ADA styled tanks are nice too..but they are expensive..right? Or there are similar styled tanks that are relatively cheaper(30-50) as well?

haha... that's why I say ADA styled tanks and not ADA tank...

You may consider cheaper alternative like Mizucube from Mizu World or contact Leslie (Acezzz) of Aquatic Style and see what he is offering now... Just have to adjust your expectation accordingly compared to ADA tank...

I'm not sure about ANS tank since I have not seen one before. But most important is you like it with the right budget.
