can someone tell me that my chiller is working good or not..bcoz the kicking cycle is 2mins kick in/3mins kick off..is this normal or something problem with it..i set my temp at 24deg it kicks in at 25.9 deg and kick off 23.9deg..my tank is 3ft tank..i attached my chiller on my canister filter which flowrate is 2000l/hr..pls someone tell me is it good or not bcoz im worried first abt electric bills and second my moss and shrimp inside my tank..anyone has same experienced using this chiller..thanks

maybe flowrate is a problem. many members suggested using individual pump for chiller. anyway the chiller can cool your tank to the desired temp, not a big problem right? is it blowing hot air at it's vent?

and for bro sungod666 im not sure about the temp, bcoz on the chiller it reads 25deg but when i put a external thermometer it reads 26deg..and then last time im using a old model hailea aqua-medic when i put 25deg it was so cold..different from now
if there is a temp diff, i guess the flow rate is not enough. as per the pertinent advice from members here, it is best to get an external thermostat that measure temp directly in the tank. if too much hassle, i guess you need to buy a pump for the chiller. go for the same hailea if bidget is normal, if not get the Eheim universal.

i bought this as second hand by they used it for 1yr+..yesterday night i check my canister filter,i cleaned it and afterwards there is a changes on kicking cycle a bit i think the problem is the flowrate of my filter..Originally Posted by rexmus

u mean the side air filter..if it is that one mine is clean bro..im juz wondering why, juz now im checking the kicking cycle..

bro I'm running the chiller with Eheim 2028 rated at 1050L/Hr. Also running eheim compact+2000 together. In my opinion, the more efficient your turnover rate, the more precise the water temp.
That is because the air filter is clogged with dust and thus the reduce air intake and more noise.
oic.. ty.. now even chiller is running i cant heard from my living room when i in bedroom. last time still can hear.

Yeah, maintaining the air filter dust free is one of the few DIY maintenance that we can do to the chiller. I also flush the chiller once a month to make sure there is no dirt trap in the cooling chamber.
