Can you share your experience on using anti-algae solution in a planted community tank? Does it really keep algae at bay and is harmless to shrimps, fishes and mosses? Any good and safe ones to recommend ?

What type of algae it kills? I used to have green algae but now are brown ones on the tank glass.

    Re: Anti-algae solution experience

I once used Ocean free green water remover. However I used an UV filter for 4 days and then used that formulation. It took approx. 3 days to clear the water.

I did not find any ill effect to shrimps or plants at the recommended dosage.

    Regards
    Kakaz

Seachem Excel if you insist. Mostly senior members of AQ will advocate the use of prevention than repair....which is CO2 lights fertilization NPK followed by TEs

Seachem Excel works as a algaecide if overdose but that can have side effects of killing
    flora and fuana.

For corrective maintanence, is there any off the shelf product that is designed to kill algae(s) only?

While I cannot comment on algaecides, since I do not believe in them to be aquarium safe, perhaps reading this blog would be of use to you bernie:

I learnt a fair bit from reading this blog, with regards to algae control.
