I would leave the background empty. Also you might want to replant your hair grass. In strands of 3-5 per bunch, 3-5cm apart from each bunch. This will provide better growth and allow your hair grass to creep. Maybe you can also trim the moss on the bog wood as its kinda messy. Last thing since your tank is on the small side try to get smaller fishes like mosquito rasborra, the harlequin you have now looks extremely big for a 1ft.

The hairgrass is from previous setup, the bogwood I tied it with nana petite and taiwan moss.

initally thought of trimming it, but the effect of it now look like a tree and it is a very good hiding place for all my shrimps
