looks promising. Suggest you do not go for HC if planning for a semi low tech tank. Shadow will tell you that they need Co2.And you will need 4x24w instead of 2x24w. Try hairgrass or something else.
Ciao everyone,
My triple new are, New Tank, New Scape & New adventure.
it's been awhile since i posted something, i've been lying low and quiet by just surfing and reading some of the stuff here.
Now i've a chance to decommission my old and full of algae tank to a new tank. i've also upgraded my tank to a 2x1.5x1.5 tank, previously it was a 2x1x1 tank. hopefully, this time round i would be able to achieve what i had in mind. thanks for reading.
tank spec:
tank:2x1.5x1.5 white tank from aquatic style.
Soil: project soil
lighting: T5 2x24w aquazonic
flora: HC and staurogyne
fuana: none
This will be a semi low tech tank, i wouldn't be using CO2 but seachem excel to serve as a carbon for the plant
some picture for viewing
full tank view.
HC & staurogyne. i will be trying emerge technique. hopefully they don't melt away
tank from aquatic style.
This tank is half done only. i will do some shopping next week. stay tune for more update.( i will try to update as often as possible) thanks for viewing![]()

Hi, thanks for the input. i will change to hairgrass if this method fail. =)
I like your hardscape (drift wood) shape. Is this 1 piece of wood or several? I think your scape has a lot of potential.
Very nice scape. Imagine if the HC grows all over the wood. I think if add in glosso around the main object and HC around the whole area will be prefect but i have failed in HC. Lol
Hi, thanks for the kind words. as for the wood it's 2 bogwood combined.
Ciao,
a little update.
newly added rock, planted HC and UG(i think) hope they will be able to survive.
half tank shot
full tank shot (the unfill area will be fill with sand in future)
P.S: i've change my 2 light tube to 1 osram 6500K and 1 7500k china brand light tube. in real life, my tank looks much more brighter than this.
I like your drift wood..
btw..nice tank...
Make sure you soak the bog wood or hold it down with some rocks when you fill the tank. It would be a waste to have the wood float destroying all the hard work....
yeah will do that. thanks for the reminder =)
nice.. can't wait for the update..
