Hi all been reading some postings of using an inline atomizer instead of reactor. How does it it work? Is it better? Anybody with experience with both? Planning for a 4X1.5X1.5 planted tank

    Reactor.

    Cheaper and 100% efficient.

I would rather spend another $10 to get a atomizer.

    Re: Inline atomizer or reactor?

I was using an ISTA Mix Max reactor for almost a year and shifted to UP inline atomizer.
In terms of efficiency, I'd say both are good.. though I required lesser bubbles per sec on my UP Atomizer now.
    Cons:
    1) ISTA Mix Max - Occupies space inside the tank, though you can use it externally as well, but I just don't feel safe to put more extra "joints" outside the tanks that could get loose anytime (you know what I mean). It decrease the flow rate on my canister, this is the one I hate most.
    2) UP Inline Atomizer - I'm not a fan of the micro bubbles coming out of my rain bar, just too much for me.. other than that, it's great, compact and efficient.

    cheers!

For a 4ft tank I think it's better to go with a reactor?

Because I'm guessing for an inline diffusor to be suitable for a 4ft you're gonna need a heck load of pressure to get a diffusor of that size to work.

I vote for Inline atomizer. Because its fuss free, less equipment in tank.

My preference is the external reactor. Plug and play, no need for maintenance ever. With diffuser, you need to clean it should algae grow on it.
