i think the brown substances on your rock is diatom. Give it a scrub during water change. The moss on your drift wood, is it brown to begin with? or did it turn brown after some time. Seems to me that the condition is quite terrible. Do you see new fronds growing? If yes then it might be the transition period else you might want to get some new moss and retie

Bro very nice tank. But I think your rainpipe is a bit too high causing lots of movement on the surface resulting in losing cO2. I think your glosso is growing long? Think you should change your light to some high watt light to achieve the glosso growing low. Given your lighting spec, aren't you facing algae problem? Are you spitting your photosynesis period? Etc 4 hour on, 4 hour off and on back 4 hour again? I was switching my light on for straight 8 hours and my tank got some minor algae problem, changed to 4.5hour on, 4 hour off and 5 hour on then my algae stop. Hope can be of help to you.

    Cheers

3ft tank with only 1bps, my guess your tank probably lack of CO2. Do you ever measure the CO2 level in your tank?

Re: Just to Share my 3ft Tank

    Good Day to all,

Moss are green initially but after a month plus they remain brown. As of yesterday i did a 50% WC, i notice that all except for 2 parts of the moss remain green. The brown moss had all been remove, i cannot believe that i manage to 'kill' something so hardy. Yes i'll be searching for new moss to retie.

My light spec consist of 39W X 4 tubes, 156watt for a 60 Gallons which equals to 2.6wpg. Is it too low ?
I thought that 39W is the maximum for a 3ft lighting system? Do correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes Bro Peanut8787, my Glosso is giving me headaches. I saw your Tank, your Glosso is growing wonderful in your tank; low and spreading. You have a very nice looking Tank!!
I feel like tearing my Glosso up and replant them.

Bro shadow, the Co2 checker that i got showing Green. I been using the CO2 indicator solution from CAL.

    Water parameter tested before WC :TDS 220, PH 6.8 - 7, GH 4, KH 2, Ammonia & No2 0ppm, No3 5ppm.
Water parameter tested after WC: TDS 199, PH 7.2-7.6, GH 6, KH 6

Appreciates all comment and feedback, hope to learn more from all experts.

2.6wpg is consider fair enough for glosso. Currently I'm using 4.6wpg to achieve glosso growing low. T5 spec should have wattage till 36ww for 3ft. I change to PL light for the watt that's needed but bear in mind, PL light give out alot of heat and if you do not have a chiller it will turn your tank into a microwave. Lol

You don't need to tear off your glosso, just change light set to higher wattage, trim them a bit, replant and off you go.

For CO2 injection, are you using diffuser? Why don't try the new UP atomizer? It comes out like mist and spread very nicer throughout the tank.

Just my own opinion. Maybe some bros can recommend even better alternatives.

    Cheers

    My tank similar wpg.
My co2 was 4.5-5 bps then I had glosso carpet.
    Constant temp 27.5 - 28 using fan. (24hrs on)
    Photo period, 6am-10am , 8pm-12mn.
    W/c cycle 10% per Mth.

Think shadow pointed the key problem for you.

I hope this can help you.
