Hi jjchew, welcome to AQ and congrats on your new tank.
In my personal opinion CO2 and costly shrimps do not go hand in hand.

nice set up bro hmm i seen breeders having full planted tank with Co2 24hr without casualty.. just bare in mind not to inject it a lot.. dont forget to check your water parameters
hi, welcome to aq! nice and neat set up there. there are a equal handful to those who practice planted with co2 injection and those who don't with a community of shrimps. just bare in mind not to overdose the co2 injection or liquid fertilizers. a low injection of co2 should not do harm to your shrimps and at the same time boost the growth of plants, it's not a must but some prefer it.

HI All Bro , thank for all your advise .
Please advise me whether the plant in my tank need Co2 ?
How many hr of light i nedd to on for 1 day ?
maybe 6-8 hours?
Bro,
I have a heavily planted tank with SS & SSS CRS inside. I inject my co2 at 1.5 bubble per sec. I can't agree more with what Squee mentioned about Fert complicating things. as many fert contains copper(deadly for shrimps).
However, I've tried many and finally found a brand suitable which is also VERY SAFE for shrimps. I pump fert everyday in the morning when the lights come on. Till date no casualties. I use Borneowild Lush, Vivid & Essence K.
Hope this helps..
Hi All .
Really thank for all the advise ..
Today i have done a few test today , maybe need all our advise .
1. PH 6.6
2. GH 6
Is the above water parameter for the shrimp ?
If need to decrease , what itme should i use ?
Anything else do i need to measure ..
Thank alot .
Hi, sorry to interrupt, but is it possible to add CO2 injection into a shrimp tank without adding ferts? If there are only mosses?
you have chiller?
You have to dose minimum fert if you are oning co2. Or else algae will out compete with your moss, you do not want to see a moss-algae mixblood mesh/driftwood right? Haha. It will be vERY unsightly.
Personally I think that moss actually need not inject co2. As it does not require much light, thus if you have less light say 2 t5 for a 2 feet, there is no need for co2.
However, I have a friend who dose co2 at very little amount(0.5/1 bps) during on light for his 4 feet. Tank full of mini fissiden and SSS grade crs. Initially he dare not dose any fert, but gradually he started to dose a little lushgro. His crs have grown into the 3rd gen, so I assume there is no harm to the crs. As from him, with or without co2 does not affect crs of you do not over inject and is able to balance with the light and fert regieme, adding co2 however will induce faster growth.
Most of our tanks are set at 24 degrees.
Just my 2 cents and hope it helps.
Deadiest compound for crs = copper, thus get a copper test kit will ease your worries
If you are still worried, I suggest that you dose K only 1st.
Hi jjchew, how is the 'Seachem PH alert' working for you? Wanted to get that but not sure if the readings are accurate, currently using the solutions type.
Hi Atanck
The Seachem PH alert had the same reading with the solution i bought .
Will test confirm further when i buy the PH reader devices .
