Hi JS,

- Normally, I do not really calculate the wattage. If it's only a fish only tank, then as long as the lights are bright enough for u to see ur tank, it's fine

- But if corals are involved, then no amount of lights are too strong as compared to the natural sunlighhts I used a Metal Halide for my 3 feet tank

- So, as compared to the plant tank, it's much easier for me

Hi JS,

- Well, hot enough to cook an egg, hot enough to raise ur temperature water by a few degrees if 'ON' long enough So, u think it's hot ? I think it's the hottest of all aquarium lights tomy knowledge.

- Normally, ppl will associate a MH lights with a chiller system to bring down the temperature, but as for me, i used 6x AC fans blowing at the water and is successful in maintaing the temperature at highest 28 degrees All are well and fine to date
