Hailea HS28 chiller

Went to petshop today. Wanted to get HC-150A. Called and checked and they said stock was available, but reached there an hour later, the last set was sold. Then the shopkeeper said there is a new model, HS28 from Hailea with almost identical specifications as HC150a. Any brother using HS28? Any feedbacks? Was wondering whether to get the new model. Appreciate it if any brother can advise.

hahah, more quiet than 150a, you see hs-28 is longer and thinner than 150a, thus the air is able to travel more smoothly from in to out. i was told by ben and one of hailea's distributor that 28a is a much better concept from 150a. regarding the power, they are identical.

Oh. Thanks. Yes I saw the design and it looks nicer, too. More importantly, it is quieter. Good. I shall get it, but currently, it is out of stock in many shops.

colourful hs-28A is around $290 with one year warranty. previously was sold at 280, but due to the exchange rate increase, thus around 10 dollars increase. petmart is around $300 with one year warranty; $280 for half-warranty ones. hope this helps

i am also using the Hs 28 A. It has the same problem as many china made tank, internal thermostat issue. If budget is not an issue , go for artica/teco? when i started using the chiller 1 month back the kick in is 10-15 then rest for an hour or so. Now the kick in seems more regular like 45mins before the next kick in, i am thinking if its the flow rate. This means i need to do some canister maintenance soon? LOL.

I am using Teco Ra240, but the thermostat is spoilt. I need to manually turn on the chiller. It's a chore.

i had both Teco and Arctica and while they are reliable workhorse, the price gets more absurd when you go for more horsepower. Recently i bought a Hailea Hp 1000a(1hp), the performance is satifactory enough for me to save 4k. yes the price difference for Teco 1 hp and Hailea 1 HP is 4k!
However if you are going for 1/10 Hp and below, the price diff is $300 and below so you can opt for a Teco or Arctica. But do remember all chiller no matter what brand, needs maintenance!
