have a spare tank. 1.5 by 1 feet.

looking to do a half water tank, keep rams. am looking for plants that can fit in with egg crates which will be mounted on side of tank. any recommendation? hope can get those with roots that can spread to lower part of tank and leaves on above water.

reason is trying new set up and also egg crates can cut inner part so can plant different species of plants.

using 11 watts light, ehiem 2213 and gex soil bottom.

sorry not really understand your requirement. Are you looking for plants that can grow on egg crate without soil? The leaf will be out of water, only the root is inside water?

If I am correct, most plants can do well like that but some plants cannot, like orchid etc.

yes felix that is correct, just that i can never remember the correct names of the plants and c328 carries which.... too many names.... base on pictures, there are java ferns which i know only, may be big nanas on the left....

thanks shadow, will key in hydroponic vegetable to search for it.....

Have spare tank, egg crates, caves and DWs so many items spare, so might as well do some thing.... will keep this tank near window for maximum effect.
