Tiong Bahru Ben carries them once in a while. IMO normal Rummy-nose Tetras looks a lot better than its albino form.

TB price was 3 bucks each.
Albino rummy nose? Do they still have the red head, if not then why call rummy nose?
Can provide a pic of the said 'albino' rummy nose??

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Albino forms, along with other 'variants' due to recessive genetic makeup, can occur in the wild. However, they are almost always selected against when the time come for them to reproduce so the ones you see in LFSs are usually from farms (wild ones are usually sold to farms or breeders at a premium).

There are many ways to advertise and promote something. Posting a notice in the Buy/Sell section is what aboveboard establishments in our hobby usually do. Masquerading as a fellow hobbyist informing us of a good deal is what I would expect tricksters to do. As a matter of fact, I would think twice before looking up the shop after what I've read in this thread.

While budak regards announcements from relevant commercial entities as benign, even useful at times (WHEN POSTED IN THE PROPER SUB-FORUM), he considers the practice of "artificially" keeping a thread "upz" as well as "endorsements" by individuals who fail to declare their connections with commercial entities as base, misleading and unethical.
Budak will have more to say when he has fortified his constitution with a good dose of Teutonic lager.
Almost all these out there are farm bred..Hemigrammus bleheri..so called false rummy nose is Petitella georgiae, never seen this over here before....it has less reddish portion compare to rummy nose, and has a black line at the rear center body that reach to it's tail. Another type is Hemmigrammus rhodostomus..not easy to tell the difference from the other two species.
i love my rummy noses with the zebra tails!
