    Hi all,

Living in Australia, as many of you know, it is relatively difficult to find many killifish that are available worldwide! We just cant buy eggs of aquabid for example! Our quarantine laws require adult identifiable fish to be import from a restricted list of genera.

Hence, many of my fish won't be that exciting to most I'd imagine.

    Currently I am working with:

Fundulopanchax: gardneri Aquarium Strain, N'sukka, Udi Bergi, Makurdi, gardneri Gold, gardneri Albino, scheeli

Aphyosemion: australe Gold, australe Chocolate, australe Chocolate German, calliurum AMAR11 (wild import)

Chromaphyosemion: Lagos, LF (a bit that an Australian killikeeper have been going for close to 2 decades!)

Epiplatys: dageti monroviae, sexfasciatus BNOV11, sexfasciatus BFEB11, sp. AMAR11 (wild import)

Have a few species more but above gives you an idea.

Ronnie this is what my Lagos looks like:

    Chromaphyosemion biateniatum Lagos

    and fry:

Hey Serkan, we all know how things work 'down under' but regardless of the limitations, you're maintaining a nice list. I am curious how the AUS Chocolate German differs from the regular Chocs. Never had this strain before and there are itches to scratch *hint hint*. Any chance of some pics?

Couldn't resist googling for images of Epiplaty sexfasciatus BNOV11 and guess what?? I found the Ozzie site where you guys are hanging out. You can run but you can't hide!! I'll be reading up some when time allows.

Just before I took my hiatus from killie-keeping, I had a friend to back-up most of my killifishes. Many didn't make past F2 but from what I last heard, two Chromaphyosemion populations are still hanging on from local extinction; Chrom. splendopleure 'Tiko' and Chrom. bitaeniatum 'Ekondo Titi'. There might be a 'Lagos' in there somewhere as well...

In the worst case scenario, I can always browse through Aquabid and start again with my favorite annuals; Simpsonitchys magnificus and Simp. fulminantis. I prefer these over Nothobranchius species which are more susceptible to velvet.

...and... thanks to Vinz, our AQ admin, who help retrieve tons of pics from the defunct Killies.com galleries, I have the following pics from the past to share. [for those quick on the trigger, don't ask me for killie eggs... I have nothing to trade, sell or give away!!]

    Chrom. bitaeniatum 'Ekondo Titi'

    Young Ekondo Titi males flaring

    Chrom. splendopleure 'Tiko' (Orange phenotype)

SPL Tiko (Green pheno) feeding frenzy from tubifex platform

Simp. fulminantis sparing over a peat bowl

My first annual killie was the gorgeous Simpsonitchys magnificus

There are times I wished I've more space for hobby addictions but as is, parrot-breeding has staked claims for cages and nestboxes. Oh well... might be a good thing. At least it'll curb tanks from appearing mysteriously overnight

Let me know if we can arrange something for those German AUS and ya, many thanks again!!
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
    Ronnie Lee

Haha! Good luck bro! I hope the parrots wont swoop in to snack on your killies.

Yes we are easy to find!

I got my German Choc australe's from Peter Surmon here, who is one of the rocks of killie keeping. Mine are still a bit young I'll see what I can dig up, otherwise it will be a few months before I can send you those ones. Between you and me, I do not want any money for the eggs when I manage to send you some. The story is that they are a direct import from Germany and look different (different shade -lighter) of chocolate then what we had already here, with some metallic sheen.

Don't have many annuals here, I only have whitei and whitei albino growing. Have N.orthonotus as well. There is also constanciae, antanori and carlottei floating around from what I've heard.
