    Hi people!

I'm new on keeping apisto, Just a question, where can I get those apisto cave? Also if I have a pair, how many caves do I need? And what is the purpose of the cave ?( I've read that it is for the egg laying, any other purpose other than that?)

    Thanks alot!

I would suppose it serves as a hiding place for them as well
Fish keeping is not a good hobby unless you received support from your family to keep them.

Actually you can get those clay flower pot and serve as their cave... Best if you can make it with small opening...

Well for a pair you can put up to 3 caves for them if you have enough space in your tank... So the female will have more choices of her spawning ground...

GreenChapter at clementi sells them too. Else, look for moderator celticfish to see if he still have stocks for the apisto breeding caves.

Apistos are not fussy cave pickers so if you have just 1 cave. They will spawn there. But yeah, I like to put 2 or 3 caves sometimes.

    Re: Apisto Cave.

i realise most of the time the apisto do not spawn at the 'intended' breeding grounds for them, instead they will lay it on rocks or small gaps between the objects of the tank etc so just make sure there are enough small 'holes' around in the tank where the female can lay the egg and the male can fertilise them
