    Hi guys,

Bought some GEX thermometer and will give my review on it. It is a chore buying reliable thermometer, Most LFS only carry the most basic china type or qianhu brands.

While the wireless American marine is good, it only update the temp once every minute so it would be wise to keep a backup thermometer in tank. bought the GEx and i must say, despite its costly price tag, the digital one sure lok nice and does it job accurately. the glass one is ugly but very accurate as well, not to mention, its cheap.

Yes... I agree.. All my tanks use this GEX thermometer.. Very reliable.. The suction cup will harden up and wont stick to the glass anymore. But i just replace the suction cup to a better one and it'll be as perfect as before. I just hate algae to grow on it.. :P

    Re: GEX thermometer

There is a better type of thermometer which do not use suction cup or magnet. The thermometer itself is left hanging on the tank glass edge as the top part is created that way.

The hang on one is the ADA style... inverted J. Looks nice but not sure about the accuracy.

"update the temp once every minute"... still don't meet your requirement? wow! does one minute really impact a lot on your setup?

Non stop updating on wireless ones will drain power too fast. Then battery change will cost more right?

Not rational to have wireless ones update like that. I have the classic gex small. I almost never look more then twice at it. I look at my plants more.
