I bred them in a 8inch x 10inch tall tank. If you really wish to breed both pairs in the 2ft tank, just add a partition in the middle.
Hi, was planning to setup a tank for German Blue Ram. Hope to find out more before I go ahead with the plan.
Have anyone bro here manage to breed this species in a 2FT setup?
Will they breed if we have 2 pair of Ram in a 2FT tank?
Saw some really beautiful pair at C328 near the cashier months ago. But wonder if there is still stock coming in.

Why not just 1 pair in one 2ft tank? then you can avoid any fights what so ever.![]()
I love to see the Male Ram display when they protect their own territories. I use to have 2 males in my 2ft 2 year back but no female. Those 2 male each to a side of the tank.
They will flare and push the other out of their own turk whenever the other one wonders into the wrong side. Not much harm done but really interesting to watch.
Here's some picture of the 2 males I bought 2 days back.
Excellent specimen!! Its been a long since I kept them. One pair per 2-3 feet. Too many they killed each other in the end.

Thanks, I am still looking out for females. Will rescape the tank to created more hiding space this weekends. These 2 males are putting on mass (Looks more muscular) and getting territorial.
Will eventually remove one of them when I get lucky with my hunt for the female.
Occasionally I've seen females for sale at C328. They may not be German Blue Ram females but nice nonetheless. However, as with every fish from C328, always quarantine.. just in case.

Pls share if u manage to find female rams
True. The fishes sold @C328 has turnover at alarming rate. Therefore, please quarantine them.
Btw, you need to show us picture of the Ram in its masculine form : )

Frankly speaking. Talk to the staff from C328. It can be arranged.

Done so, Aunty say have and say Uncle is arranging shippment and ask me to talk to uncle. So I ask Uncle and Uncle say no, don't have.
So no choice have to try my luck next time.
I remember seeing them sold in pair earlier this year. Big size one with excellent color, then the supply suddenly disappear after that.
Whenever you ask Uncle, his response is No. Just come once a week and check the tank close to the cashier table. He almost always keeps the female Rams in there. Pretty cheap but they are young. Same tank will house some assorted small plecos and other fish so quarantine.
I've had healthy Rams (had 9 at one point) in my 4 foot tank. Very beautiful but they suddenly died one by one from some disease that I can only suspect was lying dormant from the time they were at the LFS. So as with every thing else, buy at your own risk.
Those oversized Rams can be old breeder pairs fed on hormone food to enhance their color. It is highly likely these fish will not breed well after you've purchased them, as is the case with old breeder fishes. Best to buy young Rams and let them grow up in your care.
