DSM (Dry Start Method) troubeshoot

I starting planting HC, nana Mini, Crassula helmsii, Ammania sp Bonsai in a 1ft tank using the dry start method.

all seems growing well, but the piece of driftwood seems to be molding....
what shall i do?
remove, wash/clean and place it back?

or maintain humidity and hope it will stop molding by itself?

Get a paint brush, dip it with water, to paint the affected area. This will help
