I just press it against the glass, slide it to make contact point flat and hold it there awhile before I let go.

Thank you for sharing. Do you need to blend gelatin with your beefheart to make it stick better on the glass? Btw, could you kindly share your updated tank. It is almost a year after your last update here. I admire your setup a lot, especially your LED lights.
