still learning the hard way!!
the same nana plant are all that just that I did some trimming to the old leafs.
wanted to add some but sure if I have the time to take care of them. Red plants are more difficult to look after right? And that means I need to dose Iron also.

Advice from boss Felix
Hi Jeff. Awesome setup.
I have a 3ft tank in which i'm planning to have a planted setup with neon tetras only (prob ard 20). I have had some experience in marine setup but this is my 1st time for freshwater.
Hope to hear some advice from the guru.
Here's what i intend to get.
1) Black substrate
2) Driftwoods and rocks
3) AquaZonic 90cm 4x39W lighting.
4) Eheim overhead filter (currently cant afford canister type)
5) Seachem flourish excel
Plants: Java fern, java moss, water sprite, wisteria and anubias barteri.
I hope i'm on the right track. Advice greatly appreciated.![]()
Was enjoying the photos and suddenly saw that your tank leaked and transferred everything to a new tank. Oh gosh this is one of the worst nightmare a fish hobbyist have and it happened to a friend of mine whom his 4ft tank gave way and flooded the whole room middle of the night.
I am looking for a tank and my friend is going to give me one which is similar to yours and after reading here, I am quite held up if to collect his tank because I do not want the same thing to happen to me. I am wondering if anyone can help to re silicon the tank for me so that I can have no worries after setting up the plant tank. Please let me know with his contact details
Finally found sometime for an update...
Nothing much changed, just the regular trimming.

Nice! I also thinking of planted discus tank but hesitated with all online advice on keeping them on bare tank. How is your experience with them on the planted tank? What was your water change regime? Thanks
hello there jeff
Good to see updates from you. No change is better then algae woes.
@caspia, think bare tank is for serious breeder. read the earlier posts, think he had them spawning before.

Nice setup
Had this nice green turf of green algae growing on the wood. Is this Black/Green Brush or Green Beard Algae? Makes the wood looks kinda more natural but worry it will grow out of control so applied Excel on it today. Any suggestions from the pros?
