hi kenng, background plant is ?
maybe more bushy look might fare better with staurogyne.sp in midground? just a personal view.

Hi,
I just rescape my 4ft with project soil. Previously was gravel and plants not really growing very well. Now just quite bare, hope the glosso and staurogyne will turn out well.
Please let me know any comments or recommendations to make it better. Thank you.

Sorry I don't know what is the background plant. Just bought it from C328 back then and like the way it twirl when it grew longer. Hope this is the one you are referring to.
Agreed that the bushy staurogyne.sp will look much better, waiting for them to grow and spread.
Thank you for the advice.

You have very thick substrate, idea for planting. Get more plant for the back.
1 ) You may wish to get a some red plants for the center of the tank and green ones to line up the rest of the area at the back.
This wll created a focal point by using the Red plants
or
2) You may plant a full rows of green plants at the back, and slightly in front of the green plants, plant a full row of red colored ones.
When the plants reach full height, trim the red plants to be shorter than the green one and you may have a more layered effect.
And if possible, plant heavily from the start.
I am no expert, just sharing my opinion.

the plant at the back look like Cyperus helferi
You need smaller stones, arrange around the big stones. Find out more about golden section or golden ration and arrange your rock accordingly

The rocks seems to be around same size, need some smaller rocks to enhance the bigger rocks.
The long grass, how does the packages come with when you bought the plants? I mean does it tied with woods?

Thank you for the great comments.
I will see if I make the changes accordingly.

will you be adding in shrimps? hehehe![]()

I am not sure. Bro Shadow had suggested the name.

how come didnt slop?
Nice layout. I can imagine how nice it would look when fully matured with a glosso lawn.

Dear all,
Updating my tank after 5 months:
The staurogyne.sp grew but slow.
The glosso did not make it, change it to Elatine Triandra and it seems to be growing but funny only bushy on the right. Maybe due to the CO2 inlet is on the right.
Shifted the rocks a little to close up. Still looking for some nice smaller rocks to add.
Added Rotala for the background on the right. Still thinking of what to add for the left background.

nice growth , whats equipment are you running and livestocks ?

I am thinking, should I swap the staurogyne.sp and elatine triandra since elatine triandra is growing much faster and taller than staurogyne.sp?
Can any expert help to advise? Thank you.
Hi bro,
My 2 cents
The rocks formation look unnatural because they're so evenly arranged and there's an even number of them. Odd numbers are more natural and some can be placed lying down to support a main rock.
Also, their colors are very different either due to algae or the nature of the rock...spoils the look of the scape.
Its probably going to be difficult to move/change the rocks now since you've already done the planting. As long as you're happy with the looks, just focus on growing the plants first
