Hi all, its me again. I am planning to set up a new 3 or 4 feet shrimp tank. This time its a serious business hehehe. Should i wash up the soil first before putting it into the tank? Is it safe to put those wall like decor inside the back of the tank? I hv a lot of question to ask. If only someone can help me.

Bro, do not wash your soil, the nutrients in the soil will be lost. What kind of wall deocr are u refering to? Tree bark ?
Fariez... bro eviltrain is very humble, so let me do the honours... just go through his threads. His setup is very detailed with pictures, very helpful for newbies and experienced folks.

Yup. The tree bark. The one they usually put inside the back of their aquarium
Tree barks may leech tanins. Not 100% sure though, as i have never used them before. But got to admit, they look nice in some tanks when set up properly.
another question, you intend to have the 4 feet purely for scape or selective breeding them?
