Nice tank! Do you have a bigger picture?

Hi everybody,
This is the result of my 211 tank super low-tech tank, right under the sun (starting from 1pm daily), with zero filter/ pumps/ aeration.
Problem is sometimes algae boom and sometimes very clear water. Now is algae booming period.
Any comments are welcomed.![]()

Nice tank! Do you have a bigger picture?

Nice too see someone keep it this way too.
Ever tried fresh water clams? They feed on green water, works like a charm for me.

Terry, I think you have got a unique tank there.
A bigger picture will help. Link it via photo-bucket

OK guys, here's another picture which i took jus now when i came back from work.
The difference today is that the water miraculously turned cleared.
Note: the previous pic was taken yesterday noon. Btw, this is an almost 2 years old tank.
Seems like i have to do another pruning again...
Anyway, have a look....

Thank you all guys for the response & interest in this...in fact u shd try it urself too...![]()

Oh yes they are, but not all....
Mainly due to algae that grows on the leaves...but thats when ocassional prunings & water changes every week, helps to balance the eco system.

Oh yeah, u must have fast growing plants to aid in the competition for the nutrient in the water....my fav preference will be floating plants like amazonia frogbits, Hycines & water lettuce.

Impressive scaping of plants![]()

Nice one... Can save electricity also... Thank for sharing

Coolreally super low tech.. Zero electricity usage

Wow nice.. my amazonia frogbits seems to be rotting.. maybe not enough direct sunlight

Hi Ukiya, it's not necessary to have strong sunlights for frogbits to grow. Just make sure u have enough.

Terry may I ask substrate is what kind?
