Yes I was trying to practise the walstad method, due to limited time and attention to care for it.
I used a mixture of potting soil, some Nisso brown soil....
The fore ground plants are hairgrass.

However low tech still need some attention. Like this tank, the main problem is the algae...I mean during algae attack, it can suddenly boom and conquer ur tank. Then I'll have to find a way to deal with it. Sometimes I just need to do alittle adjustment or none at all, and the algae disappear by itself.

Besides water change, I also use abit of seachem excel, very seldomly, but not very useful though in this case...

Such way of tank keeping... I have to learn to co exist with the algae or I manually remove it and water change.
    There will always be algae.

Hairgrass need high lights to grow, that is why I try to expose it to direct sunlights.

    Hi,

Yes it is challenging to keep such a tank..esp algae is the real big issue here.

And when things get "dirty", i may end up manually cleaning the glass wall with a filter sponge. But u get to learn something on the way.
