Sex of ram

Just bought a pair of rams. They look quite dIff, one has shorter
Dorsal fin, the other has v long an wavy dorsal fin, so I tot must be diff sex. They seem to be fighting in tank! How do u determine the sex?

Females in breeding condition will have a violet belly area. Males usually have longer 2nd-3rd or so dorsal rays and their dorsal/anal fins will end in a tip. Females usually have shorter fins, especially the pelvic and their dorsal/anal fins will usually not end in a sharp tip or extend further out like the males.
