Nice ! i see big orange rabbit snail and sulawesi shrimps looks so unique
I also suggest to break the shape of the bigger rock on the left by adding mid length plants in between the big and the small rocks to create more depth..

Thanks! Yah... Thought of that b4, but cant seems to find the right plant that can last long in these parameters... Had some anacharis... Suppose to b a hardy "pest" plant, but whithered and dissovled in a week... Any suggestions?

Hi all!! Finally got outa my lazy *** and did some photoshooting... Took these photos at 3am yesterday morning.. So pardon me if its blurry or sucks! As of now theres like tons of shrimplets in the tank. Cardi breeeing like rabbits, white orchids picking up the momentum, but lost most adult blue legs. Left one last blue leg out of the five in the tank... But the berried one that died manage to give birth, so theres like 10 bluelegs shrimplets ard to carry on the generation. Enjoy the pic, and feel free to comment!

    Cardinal Shrimp

    Another cardinal....

    A Blue Leg Poso shrimplet

    A berried female

    I just love their colors...

Hence, the name BLUE LEG poso...

A cardinal on a white spotted tylo snail

    Spot the cardinal shrimplet.

    Starry night AKA white orchid

Congratulation! Looks like you have quite a vegetated sulawesi tank... Nice to see them breeding. I share your sentiment, I too lost my blue leg pair after 2 months. No offspring yet. But I have some cardinal shrimplets. Could you share what you feed them with?

WOW... I can't wait to have shrimplets. Right now... all still barren I had one casualty... not sure if its due to moulting. The head was whitish in colour. However, I did see another moulted skin so I guess maybe its due to shrimp and not water.... hmmm.
I am thinking of adding more to my 6 cardinals so maybe more possibility of 2nd generation. What do you think? Also, care to share the food you feed the shrimps? Right now, mine just picking on the DW and rocks... mostly leaving any type of food I leave in there.
Thanks so much for sharing... love the pictures!!! oooh... and the cardinal shrimplet.... soooo teeeny!

Hi, thanks for the comments! I feed a variety of food so that they get all round nutrition. Some food caters to shrimplets, berried females and for my tylo snail to share also! I feed two days and starve one day, sparingly so my water wont soil up. This are the things i feed, its working great for me, but no guarantee!

    Mosura tonic pro
Mosura gravidas ( for shrimplets )
    Mosura bioplus
Mosura specialty food ( for snails and shrimps )
    Cruscuisine
Hikari algae wafer ( for snails and shrimps )
Hikari frozen bloodworms ( for berried females, dont use live worms as they might harbour parasites )
Indian almond leaves ( occasionally one or two cut strips, so as to not stain the water and mess with the PH )

Hope this helps. Feel free to comment, thanks!

Hi yany, how old is your tank? Can post some pics of tank? Casualties are part and parcel of shrimp keeping even for matured tanks.. What matters is how high or low the casualty rate. All the best, i wish all shrimp keepers best of luck!

    Hi Slayer,
Thanks so much for sharing about what you feed the shrimp. Never realise that you feed such a wide variety of food!!! Wow.....

My tank is a couple months old but only added shrimps about 3 weeks ago.... not counting one incident where my daughter fed 3 of the initial cardinals with chewed up rice. All died one by one and I had to do major WC. After that, its been pretty stable..... so far. Out of 7 I bought, one casualty perhaps due to moulting (head was a little whitish). Today, I added a few more and see how that goes. I also bought gravidas to encourage ease of moulting. I also have mosura plus. Now both of these are like in powder form... how do you feed? Do you add water first and them pump it close to the shrimp or just drop the powder into the water?

yany personally i got shrimpton and gravdias, just add into the water, it'll slowly dissolve and the shrimps will go into a feeding frenzy.

slayer, awesome shrimps bro! btw, how are the shrimps your ordered from crshaven doing? sorry, that day when i met you, overheard you ordering haha..

    Re: Sulawesi Quest!!.... again.

Hi jovel, the shrimps i ordered are 5 bluelegs... One of them gave birth to 10+ shrimplets and slowly the adults die off... Dunno why.. But babiea are all doing good.. Hopefully they carry on the generation. Went down to crshaven just now, didnt get anything.. Now i stop buying bulk liao, i just choose those bright colors ones.. Must be selective abit liao, getting overcrowded!

Hi yany, i had the problem with powdered food too. i used to buy a huge syringe with airtube at the outlet.. Draw some tank water, remove the piston of the syringe, drop in the gravidas, put back the piston, shake the hell outa it, then pump the contents near the substrate so that the water wont cloud... That much! But... I became lazy, Mix it in a container( with tank water ) then just pour it into the tank... Clouds the water.. But will settle eventually.. Try not drop powdered food onto the water surface... I will float there in chunks forever! Thats what i observed..

Mine doesn't go into a frenzy. Just graze along like normal

Yes, I noticed that some just float on top so I mix in a small container before pouring out. Some still remain uneaten and then become fuzzball... which I have to suction out.

Ok... My hands are itchy again... Gotta give harlequin another go. Bought 20 harlequin last week( 2 DOA....) the rest have been doing well. Feeding, foraging, moulting... Hopefully i can succeed in captive breeding these notoriously difficult shrimps. They are still my favourite after cardinals. Now tanks overrun by shrimplets.. Mostly cardinals and BLP, white orchids catching up... All my WO mommies are berried at the same time (2 males having a great time!) soon it will take over the tank! Probly will let some go... Took some harlys pics yesterday 3am... Will post tonight! Thanks!

Nice, where did you get them from? I don't see them at the LFS.

Wow, you have cardinals shrimplets? I have a few as well. Was looking to exchange so that they don't inbreed... Not sure if you are keen.
