    Hi guys!

I have set up my 10 gallon tank, it's fairly well planted with a little java moss and lots of water wisterias.

Right now I have 1 CAE, 4 guppies and 3 zebra danios in it. They seem to be thriving well.

Am thinking of adding in 1 honey gourami, 3 pygmy corys and 3 cherry shrimps but am unsure of whether my tank setup can accomodate it's bioload.

Right now I have a small sponge filter and another mechanical filter with biohome as filter media.

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

    Here is the photo!

My sponge filter and the tank's filter is side by side and the fishes seem to like to crowd that corner of the tank!

Haha! Yes it's our little project. Though I'm the one that did everything from research to cycling the tank. (shhh)

I'm trying to get her to agree with me to return the CAE back to the LFS as I don't think a 10 gallon can keep it once it matures and the CAE isn't very friendly when grown (anyone wants it? )

In any case would appreciate everyone's feedback on whether I can add the above mentioned fishes to my tank! If I manage to return the CAE I might look into getting a dwarf oto...

I think you shouldn't have a problem with the bioload.. The plants will help greatly. Nice tank!

Ok! Thanks for the advice, will slowly introduce the new fishes in.

I just added in the GEX soil a few days back, its amazing, the plant roots are all actually extending towards the new substrate very quickly.

in that case, hold back on the shrimps for abit.. give the soil at least 1 week to settle down then introduce the shrimps.

    Hello justnyk,

Nice little starter tank. However I must advise you against adding in more livestock. Return the CAE if you can, and get the 3 pygmy corydoras. I would not keep shrimp in a tank with the Zebra Danios. They move extremely fast and can spook your shrimp. Last thing you need is your shrimp to die from shock, especially from a nippy fish like danios.
    Fish.. Simply Irresistable
    Back to Killies... slowly.

Nice backdrop. A good tactic to make your girlfriend fall in love with fish! Should try it
