After searching google I still can't find a concrete way to differentiate the two. On fact there are a lot of contradictory views!

So can anyone help and take a look?

    Re: Honey or Dwarf?

First photo is a male wild-type Honey Gourami, second is a Fire Red Honey Gourami, a domestically bred variant. If you want to keep these with Danios, don't. Their long pelvic fins almost always get nipped by the danios which assume it is some worm and try to "eat" it.

This image in the link shows you the difference between a male and female wild-type Honey Gourami - http://gpasi.org/articles/c_chuna.jpg
