Mould like things and plant dying

Hi all i have a problem which is some white slimy mould like things is growing on my wood and my plants are dying...

I just set up my planted tank and I get get my tank from a bro here with used soil in it... It's only 3rd day of my setup as im cycling it and things just happen... I'm using t5 light with co2... What has cause this prob please help...

The white slimy mold is either fungus or a colony of freshwater bryozoans. If you don't like how it looks just scrub it off the driftwood. This happens very often with some pieces of wood when you first place it in the tank. I have no explanation for your plants melting away however.
