With regards back to the issue of salt, just wondering?

    1) What is Aquarium Salt for Freshwater fishes..

I saw a pack that says it is natural evaporated Sea Salt...so isn't this the same as Salt for Marine Eqm??

    2) Some Koi SHop told me to buy raw Salt from the Market..( Mom bought It ) and use to cure/prevent diseases in for Koi, goldfish etc.. SO Now is this Sea SALT???

    Scratching my head now!!

    2) I bought a pack of Marine Environment Dual Phase Sea Salt with 78 Elements...( Supposed to be the best?? )

BUT, I Found that RED SEA salt is more economical ( Half Price ) ANybody know if I can mix the 2 brands while changing water..and does RED SEA still work for corals etc??

nope.. marine salt have added elements such as trace elements that is required by the marine creatures... such are synthetic salt

yes, they are sea salt, but purified or processed already.

    Haven't check out Coral Life....

But if like you said Marine Salt ( I donno what Synthetic Salt means ) is added with Trace Elements? Can't we just buy Trace Elements Supplements like Calcium etc to add?? That why can save money using Raw Salt from Market and Trace elements....cheaper for Poor Men like me

Thanks for the help Kelstorm,,,,what's your experience with the different Salts? I mean there are salts with 78 Trace elements 70 Elements etc...still can what...RED SEA says its is evaporated salt from the RED SEA!!!

If u do that, it is more expensive. Some things cannot be saved..

my experience with Red sea salt is that, it does not dissolve very well when compared to Coralife but it is cheap.. there are some brands that are more expensive.. but at the end of the day, it is the users choice... personally, i find that coralife works well for me

the best salt is the one from marine environment
the most low grade one is seven seas
marine environment had full marks.and they dun cost more than the lousy ones
coralife at 1st i tot they are good but they only got 23/100 whereas marine environment had got a 100/100.the best get the one with the LITTLE BoTTLE.

I bought mine for $14.90 78 Trace Elements...the one with the little bottle..but than again trace elements can be purchased...I am told that Protein Skimmers take up Trace Elements anyway.

Have you guys tried Chemi-Pure...?? Does it remove fertilisers in the PLanted Tank...I read the website claims many have used it in Marine without water change for long time.

synthetic sea salts refer to salts that are chemically produced. I seriously do not know abt red sea as i had only used it once when i ran out of coralife seasalts while changing water

Btw, donno if I asked before...does Aquarium Medication have a lifespan..and how you know if its expired?
honestly speaking, if i'm corrected, there is an expiry date on the bottles. Otherwise, there is no way i will know that the bottle of medication has expired

Kel, thanks again for the info. Care for an intro?
