Does anyone know any LFS in Singapore that sells proper nitrifying bacteria? (such as Fritz Zyme #7 or Microbe-lift Nite-Out II) I know they dont normally stock up because of the short shelf life.. but I'm trying to jump start the cycling process to minimize casualties!

I know there are plenty of other bacteria cultures like Battle Bacteria 8000, Cycle and Stress Zyme, but these only contain bacteria responsible for breaking down waste into ammonia and not the nitrifying bacteria themselves.. are these products just as effective? (As a guage, from what I've read nitrifying bacteria can fully cycle a tank in under a week)

You can probably use Waterlife's Bacterlife. You can find more info on their website. I use it myself in newly set-up tanks with some fish food dropped in to start them off. The key is let the de-chlorinator work for about 30 mins to 1 hour with a circulating pump before you add in the bacteria. That way, they won't die if there's any residual chlorine left in the water.

I have not seen the first 2 products you mentioned however.

Bro Stormhawk, which LFS are you buying this Bacterlife? Seaview is the closest LFS for me but I can also go Yishun if needed. I just started cycling my new 3 feet tank. Thanks.

    Hi jetpilot,

I got my bottle from C328, but you can probably get it from Petmart or Y618 if you don't wish to travel too far. I reckon Seaview might have it but I'm not sure if they stock it. Have not been to Seaview in years.

GC has Microbe-Lift Nite-Out II (Nitrifying Bacteria) and Microbe-Lift GFCI (Gel Filter Cartridge Innoculant). Both serve the similar purpose of establishing and/or increasing biological activity.

Many thanks bro, I will try at Y618 tom. I have used some of my CR and sponge and cycled water from my established tank to expedite the cycling process but I think it will be faster if I used a established bacteria. I'll try to provide feedback after a few days.
