    You know you want it.... don't resist. They will give any marine fish a run for their money on colours alone. Their life cycle is unique anyway, perfectly suited for people with few tanks to rotate fishes with.

    Nah, pretty as it may be, I'm content with my wild bettas. Besides, I read up and their life cycle is way too short for someone with a short attention span like me. 8-)

    They can surprise you actually. In the wild they live for maybe 3-4 months before their pond dries up, then after 2 months or more of dry weather, the pond fills up with life almost instantaneously after the rains come. I find them the most fascinating of the freshwater fishes, just because of their life cycle.

    Betta with a carnivore diet consisting of a quality flake food, frozen or freeze dried bloodworms and brine shrimp.
