Try to Dymax the hangon type. The air output is very cooling, maybe can drop around 1C -1.5C depending on your setup or placement of the tank.

Fish keeping is not a good hobby unless you received support from your family to keep them.
What's the price?

Depending on size, the prices can be anywhere from $30 to over 50+. Set aside $50 for the fan along with your budget for the tanks you were planning to get I guess.

dymax fan is noisy for me. the best non-noisy type is those square shape normal looking fan. those fancy looking fan, (dymax, gex etc) are generally more noisy. (i have tried all the models that i stated in this reply)
however, be prepared that fan no matter what will produce certain level of sound.
one thing to note, testing for the level of sound at seaview may look as if its quiet, but back at home at night i will be noisy, as the ambience noise level is different.
Price wise, dymax is on the lower side.![]()

I just bought Ans 3000 for just 17.85. It cools the aquarium 2-3 degree during hot weather. It quiet except for the wind noise. Love it!

I'm using Sunon 5" square fan for my 2ft and 4ft. Plain, simple and does the job. Noise level acceptable and best part is price reasonable about $15 - $18.
After 2-3 yrs, just get another unit to replace![]()
Tony, where did u get the Sunon 5 from?
From what I remember, Sunon is a brand of PC cooling fans. DIY-ing a set of cooling fans using PC cooling fans + some cheap add-ons is a good option for those who are cash strapped. The ready-made fans look nice aesthetically, but they are essentially doing the same job as a DIY set of fans.

Might go look for one Sunon and try it out. Hopefully cut some electrical costs.
Been using aircon + fan combination 24/7 to maintain my room temperature at 24-26 degree.
Any idea where exactly can i find a Sunon.
Sim Lim Square. Sometimes the 2nd hand shops there sell small PC fans, which you can adapt for use in smaller tanks.![]()

Alright, Thank you boss! Will head down later and check it out.cheers!
I second ANS too.
Alright. Thanks bro, will check it out!
Just go with the GEX Turbo and forget the rest. The GEX is stylish, pratical and well designed. check google for how other people set it up. China ones are quite an eyesore. Seaview and C328 both sell. under $60
There is no hard and fast rule regarding the statement of prices on AQ. The only request is to refrain from doing so, especially when people name the stores and the prices. They are running a business and we should not influence the decisions of others just because this shop/farm/person sells cheaper than others. One can pay a lower price at a shop/farm located far from where you live, if they go with the suggestions of fellow forumers, but end up spending more because of transport costs, especially when the same item can be purchased at an LFS nearer to where one lives.
As stated in this thread, the prices for fans are variable depending on brands and size and thus unreliable for a person to decide his/her purchase on. 2nd hand fans, or DIY PC cooling fans can perform the same job for a much lower price if the aquarist is not concerned about how it looks or the capability of the fan. A simple DIY PC cooling fan unit from those 2nd hand stores at Sim Lim Square with a power adapter can cost less than $20 to rig up.
From user reviews, the GEX fan loses to the Mr Aqua Tornado fan in terms of cooling capability. The cost difference is not much between the two as far as I recall. GEX is Made in Taiwan, going by my smaller model's box, and Mr Aqua, probably Made in China. The country of origin does not denote the quality of the item. The raw materials used to create the items, are what denotes their quality. You can buy a Made in Japan item with low quality raw materials used, or pay for a Made in Singapore item with better quality raw materials. Do not be fooled by the brands, as even well-known ones like GEX can produce crap products.
