Hey, nice review and tutorial on the chiller's external thermostat! I took a brief look at my chiller (Resun Cl300) and I think there is the catch there but I do not dare to push it out(for now at least). Would need to force it out a little ?

Your write up is quite detail and you made it sound easy but for a noob like me to do it will take super long and i am afraid that i might spoil my chiller?
    Thanks anyway!

Resun is different, there is a blog by bro Shadow who modified his Resun CL-280 http://aquatic-art.blogspot.com/2008...5-minutes.html but he didn't show how he open up the chiller to take out the controller box.
Not sure about Haliea HS28A but even 300A is different, the controller box can be seen once you remove the front panel

The main reason why I mod is because I find that some time after my chiller kicks in, the chiller's temperature which measures the chiller's internal water tank actually rises before eventually dropping (suspect that the hot air is heating the water tank causing the raise in temperature). This caused my chiller to kick in longer to cool to a lower than the actual temperature.

My chiller kicks in at 25 deg (for about 45min+) and kicks out (nearly 2hrs) when its reading is at 24 deg but my tank temperature is 23 deg or lower! This gives my tank a rather big temperature difference of 25 deg to 23 deg or lower.

After mod, my chiller kicks in 30min and kicks out 1.5hr. Temperature is much more stable now between 24-25deg.

Since there are many queries on the price of the probe, just let everyone know its 2 red notes, bought at Sim Lim Tower Acez Instrument Pte Ltd, #B1-38

You are not using Haliea 150A right, I thought it was a bigger chiller?

Some updates with photos taken today 31 Jul. Hornworths has grown very fast and the tiger lilies has sprouted new leaves (but they are still small to notice in the photo).

Currently there are around 40 CRS and 2 are berried

    1st berried mama

    2nd berried mama

There is also 1 snow white. Want to find some nice snow whites with thick whites (like what Koji has!)
