Beautiful Lighting There
To be honest I don't know which kind of species it is.
I bought it as Loricaria filamentosa, but if I'm right there is no Loricaria filamentosa.
I've got two of these specimens.
How is the maintenance of such a bio-topic aquarium? Is it hard to control water quality?
It's really not that hard at all. The only thing what I do is changing the water one or twice a week. For the rest, just don't give to much food.
Do you replace the leaves in the tank as and when, or you just leave them to decompose in the water?
I just let the leaves stay in the water and let it decompose.
Picture of how my tank looks right now.

very nice set up.
I salute your hardwork and commitment towards this tank.
Regards,
Misery.
Very nice. With all the oak leaves and dark corners though, vacuuming the gravel or sand must be difficult, isn't it? It's possible to miss a fish or two if they die and you can't find it.
wow!
it's like you have taken the shots from a real river. your tank is so natural!
by the way, did you change the light that it became not so "brownish" anymore?
the brownish lighting setup was so cool.
what camera are you using? the pictures of the fishes were brilliant!
this is a nice video too. great choice of music and the sound from the water is so pleasing to the ears.
is the 2nd video the same (but without the sound of the water)? I get to watch for few secs only before my droid phone app crashed.
from 14L to 8L tank.
Thanks!
The sand isn't that difficult to clean. The current is set to the corners of the tank were the inlet of the filters are. Most of the debris is taken into the filter. The rest is being kept clean by the Corydoras aeneus group.
Thanks!
Thanks for the compliment.
The different between the pictures is that I had three GU10 50W Warm White spots above the tank. I change this a while ago to 4 5W LED Constructionbulbs/Projector lights. The pictures are taken by a Canon EOS 400D.
