    Update on the tank:
Have pushed out all the rocks by abit after comfirming the scape. (they do look nice on the 1st photo, but had to imagine hc grown and the rocks had to be elevated abit to see.)

Dry started hc, will updated again.

Unfortunately yes, it will be. It probably even worst than glosso. UG will just go under the HC and suddenly pop up in the middle of HC lawn . It is just like when you combine HC and hairgrass but that part of the fun in Aquascaping

Looking good bro! Believe HC can do the job of holding the soil once established. My HC roots were around 3inches.

Bring up the front of your tank to let the to soil stablize, and also easier for hc or what ever plants for foreground to have deeper roots.

Actually, there should not be worries on the submerge and emerged form types of plants, i will just plant straight into it. Haha. Just to share my 3 cent of what i do.
It will grow eventually, depending on 2 things. Light & Substrate. Thats all. Hope it helps.

Note that it's not whether its submerge form or emerged form leave sizes, as fiends out here may tell me that the leaves will be bigger when it's sold in it's emerged form. Nope, the leaves are of different sizes, thus I believe that it's 2 different kinds.
if you need, i have a handful for you . plant them sparsely and they will fill up in no time. especially yours is a short tank. mine is the short type.

Do share your growing of the HC and look forward to see how you intend to add the plants and scape later.

if there's CO2, they will grow better. but from what i see, it is not as CO2 starve like HC.

    Re: NEW project -

sorry to lift up an old thread, but i would like to share the condition of the tank now.
Abandoned HC as its a failure for me to do DSM, for the 1st month all is growing well, soon i was not taking good care of it(not topping up water regularly), then i turned brown and sort of melted away. In the end decided to try glosso and the end result is this.

glosso really react to how much strength the light it's getting, have not gotten as tiny and packed as i did in a certain tank.
if you need example i can send you pictures. my glosso only came from 1 source, a single packet bought from seaview.
