Newbie here :) Hi!

Hello,
I've been reading up a little on shrimp and went on impulse to start a nano tank. I have bought 10 Crystal Red Shrimp to start off with. Feel a little silly after reading, paid for higher price for A/S grade shrimp.

I used to have a planted tank but have given up after kids came along. Now that they are older, I want to start another.
The important part, just need to find space among the clutter of toys for a tank!

Welcome to the 'poisonous' world of shrimp..
You might have read that CRS would be better with a higher tank volume.. But it's worth a try on going nano for start..
Read up on the perimeter requirements for CRS as well and water temperature..

Hi Alvin,
Thanks for the warm welcome. The shrimp seems to be doing OK, so I'm planning to plant my IQ3 cube without the usage of C02 and see how the plants fare. Didn't realise the CRS needed lower temperature but I'll monitor how things are. Thanks for the advise!

Right now, only substrate and moss balls as attached

Can you tell me where to get the IQ3 and how much does it cost? i am looking at setting up something like you for my kids.

Hi Kermit,
I got mine from Polyart at Clementi. Cost about $65 and then add on all the other stuff

There's 2 shops at the same block and they sure have loads of stuffs. Spent an hour browsing at one shop

if jalan kayu is near where you live..and if you are buying lots of other stuff., go over to nanyang seaview, the prices there are generally 20% or more cheaper, big place, can get whatever you need i guess. c328 is another nice place, but if you are going during weekend afternoon, please drink more water.

Thanks pyl for your recommendations. I'm over Bt Batok, hence closer to c328. Who knows... I may go to jalan kayu when I have time to spare

Seaview is good in my opinion. Well, to be honest, i have not visited any others but they do give 15% for almost everything. Plants gets 15% if you buy more then 10 bucks worth which is too easy.
