I got my tank at recent Aquarama. Initially, I just want to put some simple plants without CO 2. So I got java fern and nana and my eihem eco pro 2034. I thought that was it! That does not last long. I stumbled around some blogs how to create the wall moss so I decided to revamp it all and go more and more...........Now, I got CO2 selenoids and change my light to 7500K 24w x 3 also Have install 2 profantec fans but thinking of getting a chiller..... When is it going to end? help.....can't stop....Since this tank was not intended for full blown planted tank. There were many mistakes made. Choice of substrate was also not so good. When I got the tank, it was used to display plant so there was some substrate -black granules- qianhu brand. The guy gave it to me so i decided to use it as a based. I went to qianhu and saw red sea flora planter, it was brown colour, it looks nice so I bought it without further thought. I used it for second layer. From what I heard that all these man made substarte will only last for 2 to 3 years and will turn to mud!!!!! Arrgh.... Using Fluorite supposed to be a better choice. so that's the story of my tank's substrate. Now , my tank has evolved from java fern to Weeping moss wall, HS for foreground, crypto , Ludwigia, Red flame, Blaxo Japonica, Rotala, taiwan moss, etc By the way, I threw away my Java fern because it keeps growing black algae!Yeah..these aquatic plants seems to hypnotizing power....can't stop Weeping moss seems very particular with temperature. it seems 27 C and above is NO NO . some part of my weeping moss wall turn brown/whittish!. That's why I am thinking of getting a chiller.......
