Need advice here. Want a totally no frill natural light tank cause no more equipment already.

Got a spare 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank laying around in the house. After getting the stand from Simon, headache start already. dun know what to do with the tank.

Thinking of grow emersed plants as I do not have a 2nd CO2 set, but will these plants be too large for this small tank? Location of this tank will get about 6 hrs of sunlight.

    Question
    1. what kind of plants will be good? hopefully easily available here.
    2. What type of fish to put in there? likely to have a small filter or powerhead only. Preferred choice will be Killifish, but not sure suitable or not.

    Any suggestion welcome.

why not half-fill the tank with water and let whatever plants you choose develop into emmersed forms? Echinodorus, Hygrophilas, Water lilies will be good choices. With sunlight, they should also flower readily. the tank size is good for this kind of setup. And if your fish load is low, a filter/pump is not necessary at all.

A 2ft tank of water under sunlight for 6 hours can get heated up. Hope that the place you are putting it is airy enough.
