That one actually looks a little angry with the frowny face and whiskers forming eyebrows lol

LOL at what frostbyte88 said!
Kermit,
I guess I know now why we need to cycle the tank.

I feel very sad when I still see so many lfs against LEDs. It has been proven in may other forums of so many folks getting beautiful planted tanks with just LED lights! Again I must qualify that there are lousy LEDS and there are Expensive LEDS. The good ones are expensive but they do a great job with the light intensity needed for good planted tanks as well as not heating up the water as much. Something that is quite important in this part of the world. Also not to mention the savings in electricity once you can get pass the upfront cost involved in getting quality LEDs in the fast place.
One other quality of LEDs is that they impart a shimmer look to the water that can be attractive to some.

Saw it at LFS and fell in love with the pattern and the size. Its really shy and always hide behind the driftwood tied with Christmas moss. Once in a while, it shows itself on the side and if you try to get a closer look, its gone behind again. Sneaky little buggers, aren't they.. lol. I heard they would still grow but I'm hoping not too muchYes they are really cute. I added two last week. Please continue to update how he/she is doing in your tank as well as updating this thread on your tank progress!![]()
Haven't seen any babies the whole day... Wonder if the filter skimmer ate them up![]()
Yany, not only we need to cycle the tank, we need to know HOW to do it the correct way. My shrimps seems ok after i topped up water with Seachem prime and Mosura Minerals. They also ate up the Mosura food i gave. Shrimps do have expensive taste, buy $2 Dymax food, don't want to touch...buy Mosura food at $10+, they happily finished it within the night.![]()

Kermit,
I started with Mosura food and they seem to like it. Agreed a bit expensive but the shrimps were not exactly small change either
My tank is still good, shrimps still intact.. lol. Got lucky for not cycling the tank this time (didn't add any thing to the water - no anti chlorine, nothing). I went to buy a second hand 30cm cube tank so I could transfer the CRS over after the "proper procedure". Shifting this tiny tank to my boys room and let them keep some cherry.
I'm keeping the cube low tech as well as see how that goes.
Cool, I guess you're lucky. So now you got 2 tanks...
