Hi all, i just got a second hand ehiem canister filter with 3 compartments. I'm not too sure about the sequence of the filter medium or does it matter how it is being arranged?Going by the usual filtration process at water processing plants, big particles are filtered off first, followed by the finer ones and ultimately chemical filtration.

So going by this sequence, should i place the rings and a small bag of coral chips in the first compartment(top) ,followed by a compartment sized sponge(top) and fine layer of white mesh(bottom) at the second compartment and lastly balls at the last layer.

I'm not too sure what model it is but generally these are the medium that i would likt to use but just not too sure about the sequence. Pls comment.

helloz........my eheim 2217 has the following media order:
    1)CR (3kg)
    2)Coarse blue filter (x2)
    3)Bioglass (500g)
    4)Fine wool filer
    5)Carbon Pad

Should be about that....actually i followed the suggested media sequence on the filter's instructions []
