    Hi..

Do we need to do anything special or extra when the shrimps give birth? I see some shrimplets swimming around but not sure if i need to fish them out and put them in a separate tank or something..please advise

    Re: Baby Shrimps

Hey Kermit, Just leave them in. No special care required though they would appreciate some moss to hide around and pick at. But other than that, they should be fine. They won't eat the food you feed until they get a little bigger

Ya, nothing much to do......as long as the filter inlet are well cover then they are safe.

    Re: Baby Shrimps

You are worried too much like it is your own baby
Just relax, by nature they will try to hide as much as they can from predator.
They will come out ussualy to eat, thats why u will see them more on the sponge, because the sponge has a lot of bactery/microorganism for the baby to feed.
Within a month you can see +/- 0.5cm shrimps.
    Enjoy your happy days bro

Just on a side note, even if they die, you would see no sign of their deaths, cause they decompose really fast. haha you wouldn't be able to tell till they grow a bit larger. But, no worries, just be patient.

Ok, thanks for all replies. I'm sure you're right. As it is, when almost 5 of my adult shrimps disappeared, I don't even see any corpse.

i bought 2 CRS and it borne me 15 offsprings. Lucky me.

Like you, I will observe it everyday and counting are all of them still there. Day by day passed and I realized there are decreasing in numbers. I tried to search for them around and found there are just hiding stones or underneath my moss ball.

1 month had passed. All of them had grew bigger, about 1/4 size of their parents. They are now more visible and will not "disappear". Don't worry if you don't have any big fish or big holes that will suck your shrimplets to the filter.

Ok, thanks for that, will post pics when they finally grow.

But i still can't explain how the adults disappeared too. I did find a few dead bodies but not all accounted for.

Anyone of any CSI for shrimps? Horatio Shrimp?

Dead shrimps are not a good sign, you might want to check your water parameters ~

    Hi sianxz

I will do that. Can you recommend me a good test kit to get?

What's more important to check? pH, gH KH and ammonia?
