I do not know of any "bad" test kit as i have only 1 brand of test kit and nothing else to compare against. Hahas, for myself i use test kit from Sera brand. I use the drip kind of test kit.

I bought pH, gH and Nitrate. I cant remember how much they cost, but if i did not remember wrongly, it should cost below $40. I got them at c328

It would definitely be much better if you can get a whole range of test kit. But usually, if you get pH, gH and Nitrate readings right, your shrimps should be fine ( Would need some expert to confirm this, please correct if me i am wrong )
