my favourite emperor tetra is dead with what i think is severe internal bleeding. i just counted all 6 of them was there last night and they were all heathly and without this kind of bad internal bleeding. what could have caused this overnight? disease?

sounds like internal bacterial infection
i don't think isolating them will do any good
try interpet's anti internal bact (can't remember no. of the bottle)
was there any swelling ?
looks a little like red spots but the colour is lighter.
primary syndroms are red spots literally. if undiagnosed, infected area swells and ulceration is possible as secondary infection sets in...
think there are medication for this purpose too.
sorry can only suggest this...
but as with DEA, i will go for internal bacteria infection treatment first too.
okay. think i will change water and dose the anti internal bacteria medication later. think is No. 9. btw, will the medication hurt the plants and filter bacteria? and will other healthy fish in the tank be affected?
most medication should be avoided if possible in planted tanks as they can affect your plants. Even if the medicine is harmful to plants, then you gotta choose... you want healthy plants or healthy fish?
Interpet No.9 may affect your plants, but it is probably one of the safer medicines. I've used it in my tank without noticeable impact... so you can feel pretty safe![]()
