    Hi Jonapur,

    - U used alot of very 'chiem' words, me never uses all those stuffs too. My filteration is pretty simple. Bascially, wool which acts the 'Mechanical' filter, Ceramic Rings + Bio balls (In my sump tank for quite a long time oreadi) which acts as the Biological filter and finally I have a denetritor.

    - With a monthly change of 90L of water works pretty well for my tank.

    - Think simple, do simple with the basic requirments of a filteration

    Cheers

dun think bioballs will work too well in the long term. will tend to become "nitrate factories" after some time. perhaps just a DSB in your sump n a skimmer?

    Hi Marlin,

i like your username. Long time never see u post anything in this forum liao.Good your filter media may be simple but if u are ok with it,it is fine.Me kiasu la.Bioball u must have alot and they remove only like i think 20% of ammonia. To me they take up alot of space.May i know what u have to cultivate the bacteria?Of cuz must be something porous right?i just check out this even more tokgong filter media. It is made of 100% marine algae and is porous of cuz.The best for marine.U heard of it? Check it out at Super * aquarium.
