look like just normal fanis this chiller or fan?

Look more like aquarium fan and is a more fancy one.

I think the fan is to be used together with the chiller so as to reduce cost from the electricity bills.

Cheetf, is correct after seeing the pdf link. It's work with the chiller, if use alone it still the same as normal fans. =(

And that means high water evaporation and topping up while using a chiller.

Sounds kind of silly right?

tell you what, just buy a chiller and ignore all these tech things, you don't want your aquarium ending up like a upgraded PC, currently am using GEX chiller with external prob, very good and quiet, energy efficent too.
i guess it right to have a chiller, but my tank is small nano tank.. still thinking of getting a chiller, just worried about over kill and the bill.. =)

For Nano tank, a ANS fan or Mr Aqua Tornado fan will do. Chiller confirm overkill.
For a small tank, the chiller will have high kick in/out intervals and will kill the chiller very fast.

Is a normal tank fan too big for a nano tank?

You can DIY one yourself using those mini-fans from second hand stores at Sim Lim Square. I bought a set of 3 from one of the shops there and they work fine.
This TECO e-Chiller is too fancy for a simple cooling fan setup. I figure the price is 3 digits?
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
