Hi guys I'm new here and I'm looking for people who have a love for tetras. Basically I have just set up a tetra community in my 3 ft tank and I would love to hear you feedback and advice. Here is a list of tetras in my tank;

1) Cardinal tetra
2) Neon tetra
3) Silver Tip tetra
4) Black Neon tetra
5) Penguin tetra
6) Rummynose tetra
7) Black Skirt tetra
Red Eye tetra

I also have 2 Clown Loaches who are a fun bunch I must admit. Hope to hear from you guys soon!

It's my first time setting up such a densely planted tank. Been up for about two weeks and the tetras seem to be loving it. I'l probably get a good camera to capture photos of the tetras I have and post it up soon. As for now I guess it's all about maintaining good water conditions for the fish and sufficient exposure to light for the plants. Not forgetting fertilizers as well.

Does anyone know whether it's better for me to get those fertilizer type of soil for my plants? Currently I'm using normal Japanese river sand.. And I put liquid based fertilizer into my tank once a week as recommended by a LFS at tampines..

Yes, tetra lover here. Sadly, I only have one tetra left in my tank. The rest committed suicide by jumping out of the tank over the one year.

Sorry to hear dat.. probably the water level in ur tank is too high? i actually hv a plastic board covering the tank so as to let such things happen.. mayb u can try look for one?

Nice neat simple set up there bro... If you really want to concentrate on planting I would suggest that you change to Ada soil for better plant growth and planting... If you do not have any rooted plant is ok you don't use soil...

cardinal tetra XL size is even nicer is my fav after scanning thru all planted tank fishes... im new to this forum
