Eido Chiller - the misadventure?

There are some misinformations on the Eido chiller that have been circulating in the market. It is about time to come out in the open to clarify all the misinformations. We will tackle all issues one by one so as not to bore you with too lengthly explanations. The first issue to kick off is........

Quote : "I heard that ***o* got problems with copper leaching... "

That really got me stupefied. The exchanger is not made of copper or copper nickel nor is it epoxy coated material. How could there be copper leaching when the exchanger is made of non-copper based material be true? There is absolutely no water contact with any copper whatsoever in the exchanger.
If it is true, there would be loud market reverberation on this issue.

We have many current customers who have bought the GLX chiller models can vouch for it. It is safe for use in your aquariums.

This is one the misinformations that is circulating in the market. The shops'owners gave feedback to me. They got it from their customers. Their customers got it from .....bleh bleh bleh. Thats how the chain started.
How to pinpoint the source? Is it imperative to know who started it?

Lets get to know for a start that Eido chiller is safe for your aquariums, okay?

The first issue brought to your attention was :

Quote : "Definitely not 1.1HP, don't know how they come out with 1.1HP. If don't believe, call up any air con & refrigeration company ......."

There is some truth in the quote by an enthusiastic SRC member who bother to circumspect the compressor of this brand of chiller. Yes, you would not get the correct answer from the "air con & refrigeration company in the yellow pages". Did he use the same energising effort to make the same enquiry to the compressor manufacturer's local office? Guess his investigation just stops there.

We want to know how the chiller manufacturers rate their chillers. Is there any co-relation between horse power and power consumption, and what are they? Does a small horse power rating means less power to be consumed and yet able to cool a large volume of water to 26°C? How should we compare the specifications of the many competing brands?
